<p class="MsoNormal">Tom Dudzick’s family comedy <em>Over The Tavern</em> is just what the doctor ordered. Set in Buffalo the story carries us back to that most idealized period of the 20th Century America, the Eisenhower years of the 1950’s. The Pazinski family consists of Mom, Dad and their four children, Eddie, Annie, Georgie, and the hero of the tale, 12-year-old Rudy, a precocious kid who’s starting to question family values and the Roman Catholic Church. Rudy matches wits at school with Sister Clarissa over his catechism lessons and at home with his parents over blind acceptance of the teachings of the church. Throw in a sister suffering through the confusion of sexual awakenings, a rebellious older brother and a mentally challenged younger brother and you have the makings of a heartwarming drama filled with hilarity. These are not great people with great problems. They’re just real people with real problems.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">A plaque commemorating Dee Swanson was presented to her husband David and to the Williams County Community Theater. The Up With Jesus Reunion Group of the Bryan Great Banquet Community presented the plaque, which will be on permanent display at the Montpelier Playhouse. The inscription says, “In memory of our dear friend, Diane “Dee” Swanson, an angel to her husband, family, church, co-workers and the Williams County Playhouse.”</p>

<p><strong>Coming Soon&#8230;</strong></p>
<p><em>The Lion in Winter</em> follows Over the Tavern next month in Montpelier. Directed by veteran&#8217;s Shirley Goldsmith and Alice Miller, this show is certain to be a crowd-pleaser.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-336" title="lion1" src="http://mywcct.com/site/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/lion1-236x300.gif" alt="lion1" width="236" height="300" /></p>
<p><em>The Lion in Winter</em> is a fantastic play about a dysfunctional family, country and international politics.  Great factual characters (Henry II, Richard I &#8220;the Lionhearted&#8221;, the future King John of England and King Philip of France) and incredible writing make this play historically interesting and entertaining. <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:PunctuationKerning /> <w:ValidateAgainstSchemas /> <w:SaveIfXMLInvalid>false</w:SaveIfXMLInvalid> <w:IgnoreMixedContent>false</w:IgnoreMixedContent> <w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText>false</w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText> <w:Compatibility> <w:BreakWrappedTables /> <w:SnapToGridInCell /> <w:WrapTextWithPunct /> <w:UseAsianBreakRules /> <w:DontGrowAutofit /> </w:Compatibility> <w:BrowserLevel>MicrosoftInternetExplorer4</w:BrowserLevel> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:LatentStyles DefLockedState="false" LatentStyleCount="156"> </w:LatentStyles> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if !mso]><span class="mceItemObject"   classid="clsid:38481807-CA0E-42D2-BF39-B33AF135CC4D" id=ieooui></span><br />

<p>They say that nothing is stronger than a Mother&#8217;s love. This is the story of a mother and the lengths she goes to in order to protect her very &#8220;different&#8221; and special child from the dangers and perils of the outside world. Using the magic of Hans Christian Andersen, this wise, witty and utterly charming show is full of fun, comedy, invention and heart.
